Dedicated to the Promotion of Professional Independent Facilitation
Our Members
Our membership is open to those who are interested and are committed professionals that want to ethically and responsibly support participants throughout California. Our members are dedicated to reducing barriers and disparity through professional independent facilitation. We also have a Cal-IF process that identifies individuals who are performing at the level of a Professional Independent Facilitator and have agreed to operate by the Cal-IF Code of Ethics. They have demonstrated qualifications for certification and are committed to ongoing professional development. Membership Dues
Membership fees are $380 for the first year, and renewable each year thereafter.
Application Requirements
Membership as an Independent Facilitator with Cal IF:
- Own and operate proprietary Independent Facilitator company or agency or independent contractor working for an IF agency
- Has supported at least 5 clients all the way through the process (from PCP, through Transition, into ongoing SDP)
- Has at least 5 clients in ongoing SDP
- Has an IF certificate/Person Centered Planning certificate
- Proactive learner and interested in gaining more education and experience
- Involvement in community at large (other IF meetings, LVAC, related meetings/positions held)
- No prior known violations of Cal IF Code of Conduct and Ethics or appropriate remediation followed if a violation has occurred
- Demonstrate commitment to follow Cal IF’s Code of Conduct and Ethics
- Sponsorship from a current Cal-IF member
Provide 2-3 of the following to demonstrate professionalism:
- Redacted spending plan
- Redacted PCP
- Copy of business License
- Letter from Regional Center stating that they are in good standing
